What to look for when you are choosing an LVT fitter
Most LVT floors that fail were not fitted badly — they were laid on a sub-floor nobody prepared. Every dip, screw head and loose board telegraphs through the plank within months. Ask any fitter how they intend to prepare the floor before you talk about price, and expect levelling compound, screed or ply to appear in the quote where the room needs it.
Pattern work is the second thing to ask about. Herringbone and chevron only look right when the layout is set out from the centre line of the room, so the pattern lands square to the longest wall and the cuts fall evenly at the edges. We dry-lay and set out first, every time.
We work with the main UK LVT ranges and can supply at trade prices, which often lands close to retail once the adhesive and trims are counted. If you have already bought your flooring, that is no problem at all — fit-only is quoted per job, starting at £70 for the labour on the smallest visits.
Everything is priced as one fixed written quote after a free measure. There is no call-out charge for quoting, and we can come out in the evening or on a Saturday if that is easier than taking time off work.

- Supplied and fitted, LVT is usually £85–£100 per square metre including adhesive or click fitting and trims. Fit-only is priced per job from £70. Hallways and landings are quoted per job because the fitting time matters more than the floor area.
- Can you fit herringbone LVT?
- Yes, and it is some of our favourite work. Herringbone and chevron need setting out from the centre line so the pattern lands square to the room, so we dry-lay and set out before anything is glued down.
- Do you prepare the sub-floor as well?
- Always. Levelling compound, screed or ply-lining is included in the quote where the floor needs it — LVT is only ever as flat as what sits underneath it.
- When can you come out to measure?
- Whenever suits you, including evenings and Saturdays. The measure is free, takes around twenty minutes and you get a fixed written quote afterwards.
