Choosing the right bedroom carpet
You can be more generous with softness in a bedroom than anywhere else in the house. A deep twist or a saxony feels wonderful on bare feet in the morning and will last for years up there, whereas the same carpet in a hallway would look tired within two.
The underlay matters more than most people expect. We fit a good 10–11 mm underlay as standard, and it is the single thing that makes a mid-range carpet feel like an expensive one. On colour, lighter shades open a small bedroom up and darker ones hide more. If it is a child's room or you have pets sleeping up there, a stain-resistant twist is the sensible compromise between soft and practical.
