How accurate is this?
Close enough to budget with, and not a substitute for a measure. The figures assume a normal rectangular room, a sound sub-floor and a straightforward access route. What moves a real quote up or down is the quality of carpet or LVT you choose, how flat the existing floor is, and whether there is old flooring or adhesive to take out first.
Stairs, landings and small hallways are deliberately not priced per square metre here. You can spend most of a day on a little hallway, so we quote those as a fixed package based on the number of steps, turns and door frames — it works out fairer than charging by the floor area.
