Why we price halls per job
A hallway is small on paper and slow in practice. You can lose most of a day in a narrow hall with five door frames, a meter cupboard, a radiator pipe and a bottom stair to scribe around. Pricing that strictly by the square metre would either sting you or lose us money, so we quote halls, landings and small awkward spaces as a fixed package based on what is actually there.
On what to fit: LVT is the safe answer for most families. It is waterproof, it takes grit and mud without holding it, and it wipes clean at the door rather than staining. If you want the hall to feel warmer and quieter, a heavy-duty twist carpet still works — just go firmer and darker than you would upstairs, and expect to replace it sooner than a resin or LVT floor.
The detail that makes a hall look professionally done is the thresholds. Every doorway needs the right trim, set at the right height, and the plank direction has to carry through so the hall and the rooms read as one floor rather than five separate jobs. If the new build-up is higher than the old floor, we ease the doors on site.
