Why garage floor paint peels and a resin floor doesn't
Almost everyone we visit has tried floor paint first. It goes on beautifully, and a year later it is coming away in patches wherever the car parks. That is not bad luck — it is because paint is a thin film sitting on a sealed, dusty concrete surface it never bonded to, and hot tyres pull it straight back off.
We do it the other way round. The slab is mechanically ground or shot-blasted until it is clean, open concrete, cracks and pinholes are filled, and any oil contamination is treated. Then it is primed and built up in resin coats. The finish is bonded into the concrete rather than resting on it, and it comes out several times thicker than paint.
You can have it plain in a colour of your choice, or with decorative flake broadcast into it, which hides scuffs and gives grip. Anti-slip topcoats are available for workshops and anywhere that gets wet. Line marking and bay markings are no problem for commercial units.
A single garage is usually two days: grinding and priming on day one, build and finish coats on day two. Walk on it after about 24 hours, drive on it after around a week — the resin keeps hardening after it feels dry, so that wait matters. Free survey and a fixed written price across Northamptonshire.
